A leader in the digital media and news industry is hiring a Social Media Editor in Los Angeles, CA for a full time position, onsite. Competitive salary range of $75K - $85K. Comprehensive medical, retirement, and wellness benefits package. High impact role supporting the launch of a major newsroom expansion. Direct collaboration with senior editorial leadership. Social Media Editor Requirements 3+ years of professional social media experience within a news organization. Proven expertise across major social platforms, publishing tools, and analytics dashboards. Strong editorial judgment and ability to identify high performing content in a fast paced environment. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and Canva with demonstrated creative execution. Ability to work onsite five days per week in Los Angeles, including evenings and weekends as news demands shift. Social Media Editor Responsibilities Manage daily posting and scheduling across all social media platforms to ensure timely and comprehensive coverage. Write, edit, and optimize platform specific content to maximize engagement, reach, and social search performance. Monitor breaking news and real time analytics to guide publishing decisions and content strategy. Pitch and execute creative social first initiatives, including short form on camera video content. Partner with editorial teams to align coverage and amplify top stories across digital channels. Schedule Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm PST. Monday through Friday from 12pm to 8pm PST.
