Senior Construction Project Manager

Position Overview

Metric Geo has partnered with a leading Construction Management firm; our client is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager with a strong background in capital projects and program management. The ideal candidate has experience with design-bid-build programs in the public sector, preferably in NYC, along with Life Sciences, Pharma, or Healthcare capital work.

You'll oversee a portfolio of assigned capital projects from start-up through closeout, providing senior-level leadership to project teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality are maintained across the program.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple concurrent capital projects, managing Project Managers and project teams to ensure performance against scope, schedule, and budget.
• Serve as the senior point of contact for the client and key stakeholders on assigned projects.
• Direct coordination with the scheduling and project controls teams to maintain program-level schedules, budgets, and cost reports.
• Review and approve major change orders, claims, and contract issues before escalation.
• Lead progress meetings, establishing and enforcing project controls requirements and standards across the portfolio.
• Mentor and develop Project Managers and project engineering staff.
• Identify program-level risks early and drive corrective action to protect schedule, budget, and client relationships.
• Prepare and present senior-level progress reports and recommendations to client leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; engineering or construction management background a plus.
• 10+ years of project management experience on capital projects, including portfolio or multi-project oversight; experience across multiple sides of the business (consultant, owner, contractor, engineer) a plus.
• Life Sciences, Pharma, or Healthcare project experience required.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, CMiC, Procore, or Oracle Unifier preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment across varying project situations.
