Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 2+ years of experience across multiple surgical specialties for a hospital surgical services position.

Details

• Hospital surgical services unit supporting a wide range of specialties
• Case types include hysterectomy, GYN, total joints, general, bariatric, DaVinci Robot, ENT, thoracics, neuro spine, and plastics
• Cares for patients across the lifespan from neonate through geriatric
• Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with no weekends
• Call requirement of up to 40 hours on a 6-week rotating schedule

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience required
• BLS certification required
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential required
• License required if applicable
• High school diploma or GED required
• Working knowledge of the metric system and medical terminology
• Strong prioritization, planning, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced surgical environment

Additional Information

• Assist the surgical team during the intra-operative period, focusing on preparation and handling of instrumentation and equipment
• Support surgeons throughout procedures and adapt equipment use based on patient age and needs
• Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy and procedure
• Demonstrate aseptic technique to ensure positive patient outcomes
• Recognize and respond promptly to urgent or emergency situations during procedures
• Maintain adherence to professional standards of practice throughout patient and family interactions
