Your Role on the Team

Position Summary: Under the supervision of Cancer Center supervisor, incumbent performs non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting. Performs a variety of tasks including assisting in patient care and registration, research lab processing, and data entry. Provides clerical assistance associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary and can vary based on needs.

Required Qualifications: Understanding of medical terminology Phlebotomy certification Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Medical Assistant Certification Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English BLS certification upon hire Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting Outpatient experience Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese
