Virtual Monitor Tech

AZ Clinical Command Center located in Phoenix AZ is looking for a virtual monitor tech; facility is referred to as a Virtual Hospital Setting. Prescreen interview, if recommended, auto offer (time off must be approved by facility); the hiring manager has 24-hours to accept/decline this candidate. Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting (lethal rhythms will be pass or fail and only one chance). Cannot have another job with on assignment for night shift positions, must be available for 2-3 days of day shift for orientation. Strict no cell phone policy, hospital provides work phone number for traveler to share. Hospital does not sign timesheets.

In addition to 2 years in a work-related position, the following are required:

• Graduation from one of the following accredited programs, including EKG interpretation
• Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities. 3 years of experience is preferred.

Job duties include:

• Performing remote surveillance for multiple locations, specific to cardio-pulmonary rhythms via a central monitoring station
• Recognizing, recording, and reporting potentially dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias following established standards and procedures per applicable regulatory requirements
• Accurately recognizing cardiac rhythms and following command center policy
• Taking appropriate action and following established protocols in notifying local RN staff of changes in cardiac rhythm and arrhythmias
• Following proper communication channels in handling routine and emergency situations; following established protocols/procedures; having awareness of and striving to improve patient outcomes and department metrics

Shifts: 12 hour shifts; 0700 - 1930 and 1900 - 0730. No set schedules. Weekend requirement: weekends, must work 4 weekend shifts during a schedule. Weekends are Friday, Saturday for nightshift and Saturday, Sunday for dayshift. Example, could work every other weekend or could choose every Saturday during a 4 week period to accomplish the 4 shifts. Holiday requirement: yes.

No call or standby requirement, but can occur if the census drops and someone is on low census. Floating requirements: opportunity to cross train to Virtual Patient Companion or Clinical Connection Specialists. Scrub color/dress code: business casual. Unit/department specific orientation: yes and for the first group when we go-live there will be a mandatory in person with the Client team.
