Schedule

This position features a rotating shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback requirements.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity awaits as you start your career on a specialized neurological unit. This is an excellent unit to learn about various neurological diseases while utilizing your nursing and critical thinking skills. You will work with our interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment caring for patients with stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain Barre Syndrome, and more! As a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitor Unit in the region, we see many acute and complex patients, employing state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neurological patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize critical thinking and telemetry skills in patient assessment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in New York State.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience in a telemetry unit.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• NIHSS certification is highly preferred.
