Miami, FL – Full Time PMC PCC South Summary The Clinical Staff Nurse (CSN) champions quality patient care, applying critical thinking and scientific judgment in the anticipation and planning of patient care. The CSN integrates the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation—and upholds the highest standards of professional performance, including ethics, cultural diversity, communication, collaboration, evidence‑based practice, quality, and resource utilization. The CSN functions within the JHS CARE Model, coordinating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. Responsibilities Implements and coordinates patient care in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare staff. Applies the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in practice. Documents all pertinent nursing information, care plans, and observations. Manages narcotics and emergency equipment on each tour of duty. Maintains knowledge of facility infection‑control procedures. Recognizes, reports, and addresses significant patient findings and inconsistencies in orders. Seeks corrective action and updates clinical procedures, protocols, and standards. Submits patient/unit charges. Prioritizes unit needs and implements corrective action independently. Assumes charge nurse role when assigned, supervises personnel, and takes action as needed. Uses logical reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches. Provides direction to LPNs, CNAs, MAs, and completes new staff orientation. Makes rounds on time to ensure continuity of care. Maintains HIPAA compliance. Follows unit‑specific policies and the competency checklist. Utilizes job and unit equipment as required. Demonstrates service excellence and the CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Expertise). Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related nursing experience. Education Associate’s degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred. For point‑of‑care or operating‑room specialties (e.g., OR, Neuro ICU, NICU, PICU, Pedi‑ER, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology), the educational degree must be verified at hire. Minimum education level verified is an Associate’s degree. Skills General competencies: analysis, organization, prioritization, oral and written communication, composure in stressful situations, independent judgment, and use of technology. Nursing competencies: patient‑centered care respecting individual beliefs, effective communication with doctors, nurses, patients, and families, compassion, patience, and non‑judgmental attitude. Unit‑specific competencies: mastery of unit protocols and competencies as listed in the competency checklist. Credentials Valid Florida RN license required. American Heart Association and other applicable life‑support certifications may be required at unit level upon hire, with at least 6 months validity and maintenance via JHS. Must maintain all unit‑specific and organizational certifications and competencies in accordance with regulatory and nursing standard of practice. Unit Specific Credential AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) – 6 months validity. Working Conditions Physical Requirements Extended standing or walking. Capacity to carry 21–50 pounds; lift 51–100 pounds with devices. Frequent visual acuity required for computer use. Environmental Conditions Fast‑paced, high‑pressure, and stressful environment.
