Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist Join a reputable precision cutting tools manufacturer known for machining tool holders and holder inserts. This organization offers a stable working environment, providing tooling solutions for a diverse customer base, ensuring stability beyond the automotive industry's economic fluctuations. The facility is climate-controlled, clean, and well-maintained, equipped with Haas machining centers with Fanuc controls, 40 milling centers, and 20 lathe centers. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Lathes to produce parts according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, job instructions, and machining specifications. Set up fixturing, cutting tools, and other equipment required for CNC milling operations. Select appropriate cutting tools and calculate feeds, speeds, and depths of cuts. Interpret and make adjustments to CNC G-code and related programming. Set and adjust work offsets, tool offsets, tool radius offsets, and other machine parameters. Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality. Inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, tool setters, and other precision measuring equipment. Essential Skills 3-4 years of recent CNC Lathe machining experience. Confidence in editing G Codes with Fanuc or similar CNC controls. Ability to understand CNC programs and make basic program or offset adjustments with the controller on the machine. Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints, including GD&T with profile tolerancing. Ability to inspect parts and maintain required quality standards. Capability to perform mathematical calculations related to machining and tolerances. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in an Aerospace environment is a plus. Mastercam Programming is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment The facility operates on two shifts: the 1st shift is from 6 am to 4 pm (Monday-Friday) with a half-day on Saturdays approximately once a month, and the 2nd shift is from 4 pm to 2 am (Monday-Friday) with a similar Saturday schedule. The work environment is air-conditioned, ensuring comfort during work hours. The dress code is professional, suitable for a precision machining environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Flushing, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
