Job Title Senior Manager, Specialty Distribution & 3PL Operations (Boston, MA) Job Summary The Senior Manager, Specialty Distribution & 3PL Operations ensures compliant and effective distribution processes, costs, and performance across the 3PL Distribution Network for the Prescription business. Primary focus includes 3PL performance through KPI and supplier relationship management, and leading projects & continuous improvement initiatives to keep 3PL operations interruption‑free. The role serves as the specialty‑focused operational lead within the Trade & Distribution team, bridging logistics, customer experience, and specialty pharmacy operations. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary Trade & Distribution liaison to the prescription 3PL partners, ensuring customer requirements are clearly understood and consistently met. Daily monitor 3PL systems and reporting, maintain close communication with the 3PL to uphold high performance and customer satisfaction, and identify potential service disruptions for timely triage. Conduct regular business review meetings with the 3PL to align service expectations and performance to SLA, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement. Apply specialty pharmacy specific requirements such as labeling, picking, lot number control, and product dating in process design. Design new processes and align existing processes to meet specialty pharmacy needs. Manage the contractual relationship between the company and warehouse partners for prescription goods and samples, including cost management and contract negotiations with suppliers and volume commitments. Provide monthly cost follow‑ups to stakeholders, presenting trends and identifying savings opportunities. Project capacity utilization and distribution needs using business plans and growth targets. Present business cases for process and system needs, enhancements, and upgrades to all management levels, clearly documenting benefits, risks, and resource requirements. Drive continuous improvement through ongoing process review, stakeholder engagement, and best practices to reduce cost, improve service level, capacity, productivity, and quality. Ensure inventory accuracy in the pharmaceutical warehouse network, maintaining compliance with DSCSA, daily reconciliation, KPI reporting, and product tracking regulations. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical logistics, distribution, trade operations, supply chain, or 3PL account management. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical distribution, specialty pharmacy operations, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DSCSA, GDP). Demonstrated success in managing vendor performance or serving as primary operational liaison with external partners. Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills; ability to work cross‑functionally and influence without authority. Preferred Experience Supporting or managing 3PL operations in a specialty or limited distribution product environment. Familiarity with cold‑chain logistics, specialty networks, or high‑touch distribution models. APICS / ASCM Certification in Supply Chain Management or another professional designation.
