Job Title Bioinformatician A/B Job Summary The Human Pancreas Analysis Program and Faryabi Lab are seeking multiple motivated bioinformaticians to advance our understanding of aberrant gene expression regulation. Projects are supported by the National Cancer Institute, Human Pancreas Analysis Program, and Susan G Komen and use genomic and imaging technologies to generate data modalities probing cancer epigenomes. The lab is a core member of the Penn Epigenetics Institute, Abramson Cancer Center, and Institute for Biomedical Informatics. Job Responsibilities Contribute to development and testing of solutions for data integration, including data from single‑cell and epigenomic assays. Contribute to maintenance of genomic and imaging data analysis pipelines, including chromatin conformation, 3D spatial Oligopaint imaging, and super‑resolution microscopy. Collaborate with experimental scientists to explore and interpret various genomic and epigenomic data types. Participate in lab and departmental meetings and discussions. Other duties as assigned. For Bioinformatician B level, develop genomic and imaging chromatin conformation data analysis pipelines. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in computational or life sciences with at least three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required for Bioinformatician A). Master’s Degree in computational or life sciences with at least three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required for Bioinformatician B). Proficiency in Python and R programming (required). Active interest in bioinformatics, genomics, data visualization, or machine learning applications (required). Basic system administration knowledge (required). Experience with data visualization and/or server‑side programming such as PHP, Bash, Node.js, D3.js (preferred). Experience working with large genomic sequence data (preferred). Ability to write clear, concise, and efficient code with documentation. Job Location Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Department / School Perelman School of Medicine Pay Range $57,500.00 – $101,200.50 annual rate.
