Civil Helper – Mont Belvieu, TX We’re looking for a Civil Helper to work at our Mont Belvieu, TX job site. The role supports carpenters and construction crews in material handling, site preparation, and safety compliance. Responsibilities Assist carpenters with preparing project layout. Estimate dimensions such as height, width, length, and other proportions. Select materials and tools as instructed. Use hammers, pry‑bars, chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures. Operate ladders and scaffolding safely. Apply tools like levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure level and secure construction. Create formwork structures for pouring concrete. Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Maintain high production quality. Perform other duties as required. Safety Expectations Actively participate in a strong safety culture. Recognize safety hazards and risks. Attend onsite safety meetings. Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures. Be aware of changing conditions on an active job site. Be punctual and ready for work each day. Display a positive attitude and work well in a team environment. Physical Demands Work outdoors in extreme heat, humidity, cold, and at high elevations. Lift and carry objects up to 60 lbs. Stand for extended periods (up to 11 hours) with breaks every 2.5 hours. Perform climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending. Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools. Qualifications Basic knowledge of civil construction. Minimum of 6 months experience as a craftsman helper. Willingness to travel extensively and work in remote areas. Ability to work outside in extreme heat, humidity, and cold. Willingness to attend mandatory safety meetings. Team player ready for shifts up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week. Physical ability to meet basic requirements. Preferred Background Previous experience in oil and gas construction.
