Physical Therapist 2

Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist 2 to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide evidence-based physical therapy evaluation and treatment to patients across a diverse caseload, helping them restore function, reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life. Working within a collaborative, compassionate, and inclusive culture that values integrity and accountability, you will partner closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

As a Physical Therapist 2, you will independently perform comprehensive physical therapy assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and modify interventions based on patient progress and clinical judgment. You will educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety, and strategies to optimize functional independence, while ensuring that all care is aligned with current clinical standards and regulatory requirements. You will document your evaluations, daily treatment notes, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner using the organization’s electronic medical record system. You will also contribute to discharge planning and communicate clearly with the care team to support safe, effective transitions of care.

This role involves mentoring and supporting Physical Therapist 1 staff, therapy assistants, and students by serving as a clinical resource, sharing best practices, and demonstrating advanced clinical skills in your specialty areas of interest. You will participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical competency activities, and continuing education programs to maintain and advance your clinical expertise. The Physical Therapist 2 position typically requires a flexible schedule that may include weekdays and occasional weekends or holidays depending on patient volume and departmental needs.
