Senior Mechanical Engineer JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, seeks a senior mechanical engineer to work onsite at our Greenville and Liberty, South Carolina facilities. This role supports our intelligent automated manufacturing and distribution technology solutions globally. How You'll Make an Impact Develop deep knowledge and skills in a specific practice area Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks for conventional projects with few complex features Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments Work on small projects or portions of larger projects Review the technical output of team members as needed Influence team and department decisions Disciplined lead and contributor to facilitate successful projects Possess above‑average oral and written communication skills Represent the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments Work under minimum supervision Exercise independent judgment, innovate, and work autonomously Recognize and implement significant design and workflow improvements, including automation and amusement technology‑related improvements Note: This list of responsibilities is inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline, or an associate’s degree (2‑year) with experience from an accredited program (ABET/EAC) Five or more years’ work experience as a mechanical engineer Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD) FE Exam, or EIT designation desirable Proficiency in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures Sufficient knowledge to supervise others Breadth and depth of experience to tackle enterprise engineering problems Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks Capability to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including reviewing and critiquing others’ work Ability to lead discipline‑specific teams and influence project direction and progress View as a technical expert within the department May serve as a mentor or coach for developing engineers Current or prior experience at JR Automation, or in the automation industry (strongly preferred) Travel required up to 25%, including overnight and international Disclaimer & Accommodation JR Automation requires candidates to successfully complete a 10‑panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
