Urology Physician Services
Pay rate: $355.00 per hour
Location: Fargo, ND VA Health Care System
Period of Performance : 6/15/2026 - 6/14/2027 plus 2 (two) 1 (one) year option period.
VA HOURS OF OPERATION/SCHEDULING: VA Business Hours: The Fargo, ND VA Medical Center operates 24 hours a day ; however, contractor services for Urology clinical and surgical support shall be performed Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m . local time. Clinic and Operating Room schedules may vary within these hours. Contractor personnel shall not exceed 40 hours per week . No work will be performed on federal holidays, and the contractor will not be paid holiday pay.
GENERAL
The candidate should be Board Certified /Board Eligible Urology Physician Services on site in accordance with the specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Fargo VA Health Center.
Place of Performance: shall furnish services at the Fargo VA Medical Center, 2101 Elm Street North, Fargo, ND 58102.
QUALIFICATIONS: Offerors must submit proof of all required licensing/certification at the time offers are due. Quotes that do not contain copies of the actual licensing/ certification (not just written or typed list with license numbers) shall automatically be rendered technically unacceptable and will not be eligible for award
License : The Contractor’s physician(s) assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. A North Dakota license is preferred but not required. Board Certification: All contractor’s physician(s) shall be Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU) and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency . All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times. Documentation verifying current certification shall be provided by the Contractor to the VA COR on an annual basis for each year of contract performance. Training (ACLS, BLS, EHR and VA MANDATORY ): Contractor shall meet all VA educational requirements and mandatory course requirements defined herein; all training must be completed by the contractor’s physician(s) as required by the VA
Technical Proficiency: Contractor’s physician(s) shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently. Contractor shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification and/or licensure related to the provision of care, treatment and/or services performed. Contractor shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history for all contractor’s physician(s) and contractor’s physician(s) shall be responsible for abiding by the Facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations (referenced herein) that govern medical staff behavior. Contractor must have successful completion of an approved residency program in Urology during which 3 years were devoted to Urological surgery.
Direct Patient Care: Estimated 90% of the time involved in direct patient care. Contractor shall be responsible for evaluating and treating patients in a Urological outpatient clinic daily, seeing patients on consultation and coordinating referral of consultants when necessary. Will make in patient rounds for Urological patients. Will perform cystoscopies, vasectomies, scrotal surgeries, ureteroscopies, transurethral surgeries for prostate disease and bladder cancer. Will provide basic general urological care. Robotics certified is preferred but not required . Will be expected to be in hospital 0730-1600 local time. 80 hours a pay period, Monday through Friday. There are no call responsibilities or Federal holiday responsibilities. Contractor is expected to be able to perform: Lymphatic Major Procedures, Abdominal Major Procedures, I&D Prostatic Abscess, Prostate Procedures, Urethra Procedures, Ureter Major Procedures, Epididymis and Spermatic Cord Procedures, Bladder Procedures, Kidney Major Procedures, Penis Procedures, Scrotum Procedures, Testes Procedures, Endoscopy Procedures, and should be able to use holmium laser, ESWL, and able to perform fluoroscopy .
Clinic and Surgical Care : Contractor’s physician(s) shall provide clinical urology services including surgeries, consultations cystoscopies and other related urology procedures . Contractor’s physician(s) shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time. Medications: Contractor’s physician(s) shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
Administrative: Estimated 10% of the time not involved in direct patient care. This includes meetings, education, etc.
Quality Improvement Meetings : The contractor’s physician(s) shall participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee.
Patient Safety Compliance and Reporting:
· Contractor's physician(s) shall follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care. Contractor's physician(s) shall make every effort to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injury caused by acts of commission or omission in the delivery of care.
· All events related to patient injury, medication errors, and other breeches of patient safety shall be documented in the medical record of those impacted and disclosed to the patient or surrogate. As soon as practicable (but within 24 hours)
· Contractors shall notify COR of incident and submit an entry in the Patient Safety Reporting System, following up with COR as required or requested.
Patient Safety Compliance and Reporting:

· Contractor's physician(s) shall make every effort to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injury caused by acts of commission or omission in the delivery of care.
