RN Staff Nurse I - Pediatric Urologic Surgery

* Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care.* Provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.* Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/families regarding disease process and symptom management.* Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.* Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.* Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other processes related to direct patient care.* Maintains required skills and competencies and participates in educational programs, staff meetings and in services such as CPR as required.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Graduate of an accredited nursing program.* Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with Compact Act.* Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).* Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.* Competitive health insurance packages with priority appointments and lower copays/coinsurance.* Take advantage of our free Metro transit U-Pass for eligible employees.* WashU provides eligible employees with a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan, which combines employee contributions and university contributions starting at 7%.* WashU covers the cost of tuition for you and your family, including dependent undergraduate-level college tuition up to 100% at WashU and 40% elsewhere after seven years with us.Washington University in St. Louis' collective success is significantly attributed to the passion and outstanding efforts of our community.
