Advanced Practice - Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery

Job Details:

• Locum Tenens Physician Assistant opportunity providing bench coverage for ongoing cardiothoracic surgery needs
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM in an integrated clinic/hospital setting
• Clinic is located inside the hospital, allowing OR assist, rounding, and clinic responsibilities to all be performed within a single day
• Call schedule is 1:2, splitting call 50/50 with one other PA
• Weekday call runs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM the following morning during call rotation
• Weekend call runs from 3:00 PM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday during weekend rotation
• Call-back frequency is approximately 1-2 times per month
• Guaranteed 8 hours per day with overtime applicable after 8 hours
• 5-8 patient encounters per shift
• Must be able to perform radial and endoscopic vein harvesting
• Must be able to interpret EKGs, X-rays, and labs
• Must have experience with ECMO, IABP, and Impella
• OR assist responsibilities required
• ICU and step-down patient management required
• Active California license and California DEA are required
• Board certification required; ACLS and BLS certifications required
• 3-5 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience highly preferred
• Credentialing timeframe is approximately 60-90 days
• Start date September 14, 2026, with ongoing coverage needs

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
