Business Unit: DRS RADA Technologies Location: Gemantown, MD Job Summary DRS RADA Technologies, located in Germantown, MD, is seeking a full‑time Senior Systems Engineer with a focus in Radar Signal Processing. In this role, you will be responsible for defining radar system architectures, developing concepts of operations for radar systems, designing radar processing algorithms, and developing and decomposing system, hardware, and software requirements. You will also support the integration of radar systems into counter-defensive systems. Additional opportunities include performing statistical analysis of radar system performance using real and/or simulated data. This position operates within a dynamic, collaborative development environment supporting multiple research and development efforts, working closely with internal and external customers across related programs. Job Responsibilities Algorithm Development Signal Processing and Waveform Design Electronic Protection Methods Phased Array and Digital Beamforming Technology Radar Search, Track and Discrimination Design Statistical and Numerical Analysis of Radar Performance Data Integration and test of large systems Involved with the analysis, design, development and implementation of new and/or existing systems/subsystems. May include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others. Determine system specifications. Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed). Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments Responsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budget Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems Ability to complete a technical project independently Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel May mentor and coach the work of others as assigned Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical, systems engineering, computer science or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience DoD Secret level clearance or ability to obtain a clearance Knowledge of radar technology. Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems Experience in leading the development of systems engineering artifacts such as System/Subsystem Requirements Documents (SRD), Architecture Diagrams, and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) Ability to interact with customers to define requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness Experience working with git and MATLAB Experience with performance analysis U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. The salary range for this position is $107,089.00/year-$144,570.00/year. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
