Bartender

Bob's Place in Alanson, Michigan is on the lookout for someone who genuinely enjoys delivering friendly, top-shelf service to our patrons to tend bar for us. The ideal candidate will be available 2-3 nights a week with flexibility to pick up additional shifts as needed. Responsibilities Greet guests with a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service throughout their experience. Ensure customers meet the legal drinking age by checking IDs before serving alcohol. Engage with customers to assess their preferences and recommend food and drink options, enhancing customer satisfaction. Handle complaints or issues promptly, maintaining a pleasant and professional demeanor. Work closely with other team members, including the barback and wait staff, to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive teamwork dynamic. Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to drink recipes and customer preferences. Garnish drinks to enhance presentation and flavor. Take beverage orders from patrons, process food orders, and coordinate with the wait staff to ensure smooth service. Create and suggest specials from the drink and food menus to boost sales and enhance the customer experience. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the bar and bar dining area, keeping counters and floors clean and ensuring all glassware is clean and ready for use. Maintain and manage bar inventory, restocking items as needed throughout the shift. Operate the POS (point-of-sale) system and cash register for processing payments quickly and accurately. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including completing inventory checks and cleaning tasks. Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe work environment for both staff and patrons. Act as manager-on-duty, maintaining the bar till, cashing out service staff and closing at end of day. Execute clean-up and closing duties at end of night. Skills Proven bartending experience in both slower and fast-paced environments. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively. Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of drink orders efficiently. Excellent time management skills to maintain workflow during busy shifts. Knowledge of mixology, including cocktail preparation and proper beverage service. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift, or help lift, heavy items such as kegs or cases of beverages. Team player with a positive attitude who can work collaboratively with other team members. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with the POS system to take orders and manage transactions. Strong understanding of age requirements and liquor laws for serving alcohol.
