About Piccola
Piccola is a small-batch fresh pasta shop specializing in handcrafted fresh pasta, house-made sauces, and a thoughtfully curated selection of specialty pantry products.
We’re a small, hands-on team that cares deeply about good food, quality ingredients, and creating a memorable shopping experience.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a friendly, outgoing, and sales-driven Retail Sales Associate to join our front-of-house team.
This is more than a cashier position.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with customers, recommending products, introducing new arrivals, and helping people discover something they’ll love.
The right person knows how to turn a quick visit into a great shopping experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Welcome customers and provide warm, attentive service.
- Actively engage with shoppers and confidently recommend products.
- Help customers pair fresh pasta with sauces, cheeses, and pantry items.

- Suggest complementary products and help increase sales naturally.
- Learn our products, ingredients, preparation methods, and cooking recommendations.
- Process purchases accurately using our POS system.
- Keep displays stocked, organized, clean, and visually appealing.
- Assist with packaging orders, restocking, and daily store operations.
- Help maintain the overall shopping experience and presentation of the store.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in retail sales, specialty food retail, hospitality, or customer-facing sales.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable starting conversations and making product recommendations.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to selling.
- Genuine interest in food, cooking, and discovering new products.
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a small team.
- Able to multitask during busy shopping periods.
- Willingness to learn about our fresh pasta, sauces, and specialty products.
- Specialty food, gourmet grocery, or boutique retail experience is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation:
Part-time position: approximately 3–4 days per week.
$19–$22 per hour, depending on experience.
In-person position in Great Kills, Staten Island.
