Accounting Assistant

Job Description Job Description Location Campobello, SC Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-4pm 1 hour lunch Pay: $20-25/hr Depending on Experience Temp-Hire after 90 Days with Full Benefits The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for providing functional assistance to accounting department. RESPONSIBLE FOR: Accounting duties which include entering vendor expense invoices, customer change work orders Maintaining Profit and Loss Statements and Expense Accounts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive and review day-to-day invoices, receipts change orders, purchase orders, check requests, and/or other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, budget, and contractual requirements. Accurate processing of accounts payable. Maintain accurate construction records and reports (examples: change orders, invoices etc.) Perform a wide range of accounting and administrative duties to support the accounting department. Other duties may be assigned. Manage the accounts payable process, including reconciliation of vendor invoices to supporting documentation and maintenance of vendor accounting files. Assist accounting with monthly credit card reconciliations and any special projects. QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred: Associate degree (2 years) in Accounting or Business (minimum). Experience in accounting for construction company. Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Required (2 year minimum accounting experience using spreadsheets and accounting software programs) Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals Ability to prepare journal entries and working knowledge of general ledger and chart of accounts in a construction setting.
