This telehealth position provides flexibility for both the counselor and the patients. Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate each patient’s trauma history and establish an appropriate treatment plan.

  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans targeting trauma recovery and resilience-building, utilizing modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

  • Lead individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients through the processing of trauma and helping them develop effective coping strategies.
  • \n
  • Provide crisis intervention support when emergencies arise related to trauma, ensuring that patients receive timely assistance.
  • \n
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and resources available to aid in recovery. This includes developing educational materials and hosting informational sessions.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in alignment with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • \n
  • Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development sessions to enhance trauma-informed care practices.

  • Stay informed on current research and best practices in trauma therapy, integrating new findings into your therapeutic approach.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals who have experienced trauma and are seeking support for mental health challenges such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other related disorders. This role requires an understanding of trauma-informed care principles, as well as a compassionate approach to engaging with patients.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • \n
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
  • \n
  • At least 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
  • \n
  • Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • \n
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
  • \n
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-stress situations typical in trauma therapy settings.
  • \n
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
  • \n
  • Strong collaborative skills to effectively work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • \n
Preferred Experience\n

  • Experience providing trauma-focused therapies and interventions that have yielded positive outcomes for patients.

  • A demonstrated ability to engage patients effectively through telehealth platforms, ensuring continuity of care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
