Home Health Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract in Cottonwood, AZ

This hospice travel nursing contract offers the opportunity to support patients and families in Cottonwood, Sedona, Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Cornville, and surrounding communities through symptom management, medication management, education, personal care, and the dying process while partnering with an interdisciplinary hospice team.

Homecare Hospice RN Job Details

• Location: Cottonwood, Arizona, with coverage throughout a 65-mile radius
• Healthcare Setting: Home-based hospice and home health care
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120–$2,230
• Start Date: August 10, 2026
• Contract End Date: December 30, 2026
• Assignment Length: Approximately 20 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts, with extended weekend coverage as scheduled
• Schedule: After-hours coverage from approximately 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on weekdays, with 24-hour Saturday and Sunday coverage
• Rotation: 7 days on, 7 days off; primary on-call responsibilities included
• Coverage Area: Cottonwood, Sedona, Rimrock, Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Cornville, and nearby communities
• Dress Code: Any-color scrubs and closed-toe shoes

Hospice Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Arizona
• Associate degree in nursing or higher
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience
• Previous hospice or end-of-life care experience required
• Current professional nursing certification and required credentials
• Ability to provide compassionate, independent nursing care in patients’ homes
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between patient visits
• Experience with HCHB (Homecare Homebase) and electronic medication administration records is preferred

Home Health Hospice RN Responsibilities

• Provide skilled hospice nursing care during after-hours visits, weekend coverage, and on-call shifts
• Assess patient needs and deliver timely symptom management and follow-up care
• Manage medications and monitor treatment effectiveness and potential changes in condition
• Perform admissions, recertifications, as-needed visits, and symptom follow-up visits
• Support patients and families throughout the dying process with compassion, dignity, and respect
• Provide education regarding medications, symptom control, comfort measures, and the plan of care
• Assist with personal care needs and coordinate appropriate hospice services
• Communicate changes in patient status to the appropriate members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospice and homecare standards
• Travel throughout the assigned service area to deliver timely, patient-centered home hospice care
