Internal Audit Associate

Internal Audit Associate Colts Neck, NJ (Hybrid) We are seeking a motivated Internal Audit Associate to join our team and support the execution of internal audit and controls initiatives. This role offers strong exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to contribute to both internal controls and operational audit projects in a hybrid work environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in executing the annual Internal Controls Audit Plan Support the internal controls risk assessment and audit scoping Perform walkthroughs and testing of internal controls (SOX 404) Prepare and track audit documentation requests to ensure timely completion Update process narratives and flowcharts in collaboration with management Document audit procedures, findings, and conclusions Identify control gaps and process improvement opportunities Support operational audits and advisory projects, including risk identification and audit execution Management Interaction Prepare audit status updates and reporting Collaborate and communicate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Required Experience 2+ years of experience in Internal Audit, SOX, or Controls & Compliance Strong understanding of internal auditing standards, GAAP, and SOX 404 Experience documenting business processes and internal controls (including flowcharting) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Preferred Qualifications CPA, CIA, or CISA (or in progress) Prior Big 4 experience Experience with audit tools such as AuditBoard or Optro Familiarity with data analytics or computer-assisted audit techniques This is a great opportunity for an audit professional looking to grow their career in a dynamic, hybrid environment with exposure to risk management, governance, and internal controls.
