Athletic Trainer Aide (FWS Only), SF1TRAINSPHYS (FA26)

Student Worker Eligibility: Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived. If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in all operations of the training room and assist in providing training services to all athletes.

• Day-to-day operations in training room.
• Training room laundry.
• Water cooler/ice chests filled for practices and games.
• Whirlpools filled and cleaned.
• Restock and organize wound care center and supply cabinets.
• Filing of medical folders.
• Help wrap ice on athletes.
• Clean water coolers/ice chests post practices and games.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

• THIS IS A FEDERAL WORK STUDY STUDENT JOB.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
• If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
• If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Experience

• Work experience and/or participation in or with athletic training required.

Licenses and Certifications

COD Training

• Bloodborne Pathogens
• Compliance Training

Working Conditions:

• Computer, washing machines, dryers, Hydrocollator machine, whirlpools.
• Must be able to work varying hours (some nights and weekends). Inside and outside work.
• Some light lifting involved.
• Student workers may be asked to become certified in First-Aid and CPR.
• At times, simple first-aid and bandaging of wounds related to athletic competition may be required.
• Working with and around bodily fluids and dirty equipment.
• This student position does not require pre-employment testing.
• Students with Federal Work Study are eligible for this job opportunity.

Pay Rate: Student Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
