Business Development Manager

Every battery we recover starts with a customer who trusts us with it, and every ton of material we recover needs a buyer. You will build both sides of that: the batteries coming in and the markets for what goes out. You'll drive TRS Battery's commercial growth across North America, from first conversation to signed contract, and work hand in hand with the plant so that what we sell, we can deliver.

About TRS Battery. TRS Battery recovers critical materials from lithium-ion batteries and battery manufacturing streams and puts them back to work. In September 2026 we took over the lithium-ion recycling operation in Casa Grande, and we are building the crew that runs it. Every person here shapes how the plant works. What success looks like in 12 months. Signed supply and offtake agreements that help keep Casa Grande running at plan. A pipeline in the CRM that leadership can read at a glance. TRS known by name among the OEMs, battery manufacturers and energy storage operators in our region.

What you'll do

• Find and win new battery supply: EV and energy storage OEMs, battery manufacturers, dealers, fleets and collectors across North America.
• Sell our black mass, refined materials and recovered metals, and deepen relationships with existing customers.
• Negotiate and close supply, tolling and offtake agreements, and support leadership on larger partnerships.
• Build the business case behind each deal (pricing, margin, risk) with Operations and Finance before we commit.
• Execute the go-to-market plan for new services and value-added offerings, and bring back what customers are asking for.
• Track market prices, competitors, customer needs and regulation, and bring what you learn back to leadership.
• Represent TRS at industry events and with key accounts, keep the CRM current, and report pipeline progress to leadership regularly.

What you need

• 5+ years in business development, account management or sales in industrial, recycling, metals or energy-related businesses.
• A record of closing commercial deals and growing accounts.
• Comfortable with the numbers: pricing, margins and the terms of a contract.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience working in a CRM.
• Able to travel up to 50% across North America.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or a technical field.
• Existing relationships with EV OEMs, battery manufacturers or energy storage operators.
• Experience trading or selling into metals markets (lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper).
• Familiarity with sustainability principles and the circular economy.
