Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active SC or compact RN license and prior telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4/5
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• EPIC charting system preferred
• Performs cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilizes Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Provides IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Administers respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Follows isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license in South Carolina (Standard or Compact) required at time of consideration, no pending licenses accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, candidates with 1+ years may be considered
• MS/Tele unit experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Two supervisory references required
• Copy of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius, or local candidates accepted at the local rate
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no requests during the first two weeks of the assignment or for full calendar weeks off, and any time off must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment
• Some holiday coverage expected during the assignment
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 5 years before being eligible to return as a traveler
