HR Data Entry Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking three highly detail-oriented HR Data Entry Specialists for an on-site opportunity in Torrey Pines, CA. This temp-to-hire role supports a Shared Services HR team within the aerospace and defense industry and is ideal for professionals who enjoy high-volume transactional work, accuracy-driven processes, and sensitive employee data management.

This position is approximately 95% data entry and focuses on processing personnel transactions, maintaining HRIS records, and supporting HR compliance activities. Key Responsibilities

- Enter, update, and maintain employee records in the HRIS with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
- Process high-volume HR transactions, including transfers, organizational changes, promotions, terminations, and other employee lifecycle updates.
- Review submitted HR actions for completeness and accuracy before finalizing system changes.
- Validate I-9 documentation and employment eligibility records to support federal and corporate compliance requirements.
- Research and resolve data discrepancies independently while maintaining quality control standards.
- Maintain digital employee files and HR records in accordance with company policies and data privacy standards.

Compensation and Benefits

- Compensation: $65,000 to $70,000 per year.
- Position type: 6 to 12-month contract with potential for permanent hire based on performance.
- Schedule: Day shift.
- Work arrangement: On-site in Torrey Pines, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Process high-volume HR data entry transactions within an HRIS.
- Maintain accurate employee records and personnel status changes.
- Validate HR documentation, including I-9 and employment eligibility records.
- Support HR shared services operations through quality control and records management.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 4 years of high-volume data entry experience required.
- Strong background working in an HR environment required.
- Practical understanding of the employee lifecycle, including transfers, promotions, terminations, and organizational changes.
- Proficiency with HRIS databases, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and general office productivity tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency when handling repetitive, data-heavy tasks.
- Ability to work independently, resolve discrepancies, and maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced administrative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a Shared Services HR environment.
- Prior experience supporting HR operations in a regulated industry such as aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or government contracting.
- Familiarity with digital employee file management and HR compliance documentation.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, and reviewing large data sets.
