We are seeking an experienced Material Control professional to support manufacturing operations by ensuring the accurate handling, movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the production process. This role requires the ability to follow written work procedures, engineering drawings, and both verbal and written instructions while performing a variety of material control responsibilities, including kitting, inventory tracking, and material movement. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in at least five (5) of the Material Control functions listed below.

Key Responsibilities

Kitting

• Accurately select parts from kit lists and assemble production kits with exceptional attention to detail, completeness, and accuracy.

• Efficiently prepare multiple kits while meeting production schedules and quality expectations.

Warehousing

• Perform all warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory control.

• Complete transactions with accuracy while maintaining thorough documentation.

• Conduct cycle counts according to established procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.

• Retrieve materials from warehouse locations while maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work environment.

Computer Inventory System

• Utilize the company's inventory management system to verify inventory levels and complete routine inventory transactions.

• Research inventory activity, including transfers, receipts, issues, and other material movements.

• Maintain accurate electronic inventory records and support inventory control activities.

Problem Solving

• Investigate inventory discrepancies and material-related issues.

• Reconcile inventory differences by conducting research and documenting findings clearly and accurately.

• Communicate issues and resolutions effectively to the appropriate personnel.

Production Support

• Support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are delivered where and when they are needed.

• Expedite material requests to prevent production delays.

• Identify, report, monitor, and help resolve material shortages, damaged materials, or lost inventory.

Stacking Crane Operation

• Safely operate stacking cranes and forklift equipment to transport materials of various sizes and weights.

• Load and unload trailers and shipping containers while following all safety procedures.

Overhead Crane Operation

• Operate both cab-controlled and pendant-controlled overhead cranes safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the facility.

Forklift Operation

• Safely operate forklifts to transport raw materials, finished goods, and production components.

• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers while ensuring proper material handling procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in material control, stockroom operations, warehouse operations, or a related role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

• Experience using tape measures, hammers, nails, and other common hand tools.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Working knowledge of the English system of measurement with the ability to learn the Metric system within the required training period.

• Strong basic math, counting, and inventory accuracy skills.

• Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment.

• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as required.

• Ability to safely lift, push, and pull at least 40 pounds.
