School-Based Behavioral Health Clinician

Job Category: Behavioral Health Support Services Requisition Number: SCHOO002314 Posted: May 22, 2026 Employment Type: Full‑Time Location: On‑site Job Overview As a School Based Behavioral Health Liaison for Swope Health, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides support to the people who need it most. The liaison is responsible for counseling and case management services for clients and their families, delivering comprehensive care and collaborative treatment planning on site during school hours. In cooperation with the assigned schools, this position provides clinical behavioral health services and related support to students and their families. Primary Functions Perform intake assessments, including initial intake, 6‑month reviews, and annuals as needed, to address specific needs. Complete chart documentation reviews with Psychosocial History, Treatment Planning, Chart Progress Notes, Quarterly Reviews, and Discharge Summaries within established guidelines and time frames. Perform individual, family and group counseling utilizing approved evidence‑based treatment approaches sanctioned by the Swope Behavioral Health Department. Participate in treatment team meetings with school staff to efficiently establish treatment goals for a comprehensive treatment plan. Provide brief‑targeted case management services to coordinate student support and connect to community resources for holistic care. Be available to assist in mental health crisis situations as needed to ensure immediate care and support. Accurately report billing documentation consistent with payer or contract requirements, including Missouri Department of Mental Health, Missouri Department of Social Services, private insurance, Manage Care contract, Mental Health Levy, etc. Meet expected productivity guidelines and standards. Participate in Continuous Performance Improvement activities. Demonstrate expertise in diagnostic formulation using the most current DSM. Perform other duties as assigned. Successful Candidates Will Have Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling and Guidance, or related field. LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license. 1 to 3 years of prior experience with children/youth with serious emotional disturbances or 3 to 5 years of related experience (preferred). Working knowledge of the current DSM and ability to assess mental health disorders. Knowledgeable in trauma‑informed care. Knowledge of theory and practice of mental health assessment and treatment.
