Psychiatric Technician II-(Emergency Center)

Psychiatric Technician II Responsibilities Supports care activities for patients with mental or behavioral health problems under the supervision of a registered nurse and works closely with charge nurse and staff nurses to assure patient care and safety needs are met. Proficient in medical and behavioral health terminology, communication, organizational and computer skills. Demonstrates and role models personal and professional effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional training appropriate to the specialty area required. Accredited Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification required. Psychiatric Technician I certification required and maintained as appropriate. Basic Life Support from a hospital‑based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program. Two (2) years related clinical experience in a behavioral health setting. Within 6 months of hire, competency validation in EKG and/or phlebotomy as applicable to specialty area. Other certificates or special requirements as required by unit/service. Skills & Knowledge Strong verbal communication skills (heavy public contact). Analytical skills, familiarity with medical terms, PC competency.
