Field Service Technician II

Overview Field Service Technician II – will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility‑scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on‑site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters. Responsibilities Takes direction from senior site personnel. Sets a positive example for junior technicians. Troubleshoots low‑voltage DC power systems. Troubleshoots low‑ and medium‑voltage AC power systems. Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems. Uses hand tools effectively and appropriately. Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintains inventory of spare parts and consumables. Follows site safety plan and safe work practices. Adheres to proper Lock‑out‑Tag‑out (LOTO) practices and procedures. Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.). Interfaces with project subcontractors. Represents RES in a professional manner to project stakeholders. Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies. Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected. Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures. Prepares, supports, and leads by example with a safety‑ and quality‑oriented attitude. Safety Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Ensures safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working. Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates at‑risk behaviors. Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence. Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures. Receives job‑ and task‑specific training prior to work commencing. Qualifications High school/GED (required). Associate degree Related Technical Degree (preferred). Certification OSHA10/30 (preferred). 3+ years or more related maintenance experience (required). Basic knowledge of: High‑voltage electrical power systems Intermediate knowledge of: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical power systems Drawings Circuit theory OSHA regulations Equipment operation (skid‑steer, forklift, etc.) Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera) ANSI/NETA/MTS standards SCADA systems Advanced: Hand tools Functional competencies include: collaboration, attention to detail, ethics & integrity, communication and prioritization. Domestic travel 5‑15% required. Valid Driver’s License required. Compensation Anticipated base salary range: $28.79 – $35.99. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
