Director of AI Search & Organic Acquisition Houston, TX Our client, one of the largest electric power and energy infrastructure companies in North America, is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of AI Search & Organic Acquisition to build and scale one of the company's most important emerging customer acquisition channels: AI-powered search and organic discovery. Consumers are increasingly turning to large language models (LLMs) and AI assistants to research, compare, and select their electricity provider. The Director will build AI Search into a scaled, measurable consumer acquisition channel that drives high-quality customer growth. This leader will own the strategy, execution, measurement, and optimization of visibility across traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery platforms, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and emerging agentic search experiences. This position is based in Houston, Texas, with an in-office schedule of Monday through Thursday and the option to work remotely on Fridays. Responsibilities: Develop and execute the company’s AI Search, GEO, AEO, and Organic Acquisition strategy, translating it into a prioritized, actionable roadmap and personally driving its execution. Increase visibility, recommendations, mentions, citations, and lead generation across major AI search platforms. Establish the organization as a trusted and authoritative source within AI-generated answers and recommendations. Monitor emerging AI Search and agentic commerce trends and identify opportunities to create competitive advantage. Manage the AI Search performance funnel from recommendations and mentions through citations, leads, sales, and revenue, ensuring all optimization efforts ultimately contribute to measurable business growth. Lead, develop, and mentor a small team of SEO specialists, uniting traditional organic search and AI search under one function. Foster a collaborative, energetic, and entrepreneurial team culture focused on speed, experimentation, and measurable results. Lead enterprise SEO strategy across technical SEO, content, authority development, local search, and AI-enhanced search experiences. Drive growth in qualified organic leads, customer acquisitions, sales, conversion rates, and revenue. Direct external agencies and vendors as an extension of the team, with authority to define and reshape scope, priorities, and deliverables, while maintaining accountability for business outcomes. Evaluate and improve existing SEO dashboards and attribution reporting, and build new executive dashboards that connect AI visibility improvements directly to business outcomes. Establish a KPI framework that measures progression from recommendation and mention visibility through lead generation, sales, and revenue contribution. Develop and maintain a customer-focused prompt taxonomy mapping AI queries across the consumer shopping journey. Prioritize and execute tests across content strategy, structured data, off-site authority building, brand mention generation, citation acquisition, AI platform optimization, and SEO. Develop strategies that increase brand mentions, recommendations, and authority signals across the broader digital ecosystem. Drive brand and online reputation management, recognizing that third-party content, reviews, and brand mentions across forums, publications, and communities (not only company-owned content) shape how LLMs describe and recommend the company’s brands. Expand presence across third-party publishers, review sites, industry publications, expert communities, trusted information sources, and other platforms frequently referenced by AI engines. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Demonstrated success driving significant B2C lead generation, customer acquisition, sales, and revenue growth through organic channels. 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, growth, SEO, content marketing, performance marketing, or related disciplines. Recent, hands‑on experience leading AI Search, GEO, AEO, or LLM visibility initiatives, including driving new programs and change within their organization. Proven ability to build measurement frameworks and execute large‑scale test‑and‑learn programs. Experience influencing cross‑functional teams and communicating complex topics to executive leadership. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred skills: Experience optimizing visibility across ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Experience managing AI visibility, prompt tracking, citation analysis, recommendation share, and brand mention measurement. Familiarity with SEO and AI Search platforms such as Conductor, Ahrefs, Semrush, BrightEdge, Profound, Scrunch, or similar tools. Experience managing agencies, external partners, and multidisciplinary teams. Agency experience and/or experience launching new acquisition channels from concept to scale. #J-18808-Ljbffr
