Warehouse Worker IIThe Warehouse Worker II is an intermediate support role responsible for independently performing warehouse operations such as material handling, picking, packing, staging, and inventory support in accordance with established procedures and safety standards. This role applies working knowledge of warehouse processes, equipment, and documentation to support efficient material flow and operational performance.Role OverviewThe Warehouse Worker II provides hands-on operational support within a warehouse, distribution center, or storeroom environment. The role emphasizes independent execution of standard tasks, accurate handling of materials, and consistent adherence to operating and safety procedures. This position typically reports to a Warehouse Supervisor, Distribution Supervisor, Materials Manager, or Operations Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handling & Warehouse OperationsIndependently perform material handling tasks including picking, packing, staging, loading, and unloadingMove materials, products, or pallets safely within the warehouseFollow work instructions, priorities, and standard operating proceduresOrder Fulfillment & StagingAccurately pick and prepare materials for production, shipment, or distributionVerify item numbers, quantities, and packagingStage completed orders in designated locationsEquipment OperationSafely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, or forklifts (as trained and certified)Inspect equipment prior to use and report issuesFollow equipment operating and safety guidelinesInventory SupportAssist with cycle counts, inventory checks, and reconciliation activitiesIdentify and report inventory discrepancies or damaged materialsSupport accurate placement and labeling of materialsSafety & ComplianceFollow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirementsApply proper lifting techniques and ergonomic practicesMaintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areasDocumentation & CommunicationComplete required logs, pick lists, checklists, or transaction records accuratelyCommunicate material shortages, damages, or delays to supervisorsParticipate in shift handovers and team communicationsCross-Functional & Team SupportWork collaboratively with warehouse clerks, shipping/receiving, and logistics teamsSupport workload balancing and operational prioritiesProvide informal guidance and support to Warehouse Worker I rolesContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve material flow, efficiency, or safetyParticipate in continuous improvement or problem-solving activitiesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior experience in warehouse, distribution, or material handling environments preferredTypically 2–4 years of experience performing warehouse, logistics, or production support workKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesWorking knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling practicesAbility to independently perform standard warehouse tasksStrong safety awareness and attention to detailAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsPhysical ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periodsBasic documentation or system entry skillsEffective communication and teamwork abilitiesEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at NidecNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
