Business Analyst - Fixed Income and Equity

Business Analyst - Fixed Income and Equity Evaluate, design and implement technology solutions to build and progress technology strategies with a line of business – specifically Fixed Income and Equity Capital Markets. In most situations the incumbent will be the application owner responsible for third‑party, purchased software aligned with a line of business. The role involves working with vendors to understand upcoming changes, aligning software with the technology roadmap, and designing plans to ensure business continuity and effectiveness. The incumbent will collaborate with product owners in an agile squad to translate user stories into effective technology solutions, while receiving coaching from senior platform engineers. All employees are responsible for risk management through open exchange of ideas, adherence to policies, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience within the bank’s risk appetite. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Liaison with software vendor(s) for systems utilized by a particular line of business. Stay abreast of upcoming vendor changes and enhancements and assess their impact on the business. Assist the line of business or a senior Platform Engineer to design solutions that incorporate software changes and work with business partners to ensure effective implementation. Gain a full understanding of the business technology roadmap and recommend continued utilization or elimination of current third‑party solutions. If working on an agile team, collaborate closely with the product owner to ensure user stories have sufficient specificity and clarity for developers to meet customer needs. Implement and maintain new features and capabilities while continuously improving the quality of technical products and services. Follow industry and organizational best practices and standards, and participate in communities of practice to refine and communicate them. Automate processes to achieve operational excellence, delivering maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions. Stay current with technology trends and innovations in relevant practice areas. Provide operational support and troubleshooting for the team’s products and services. Coach, mentor, and train new or less experienced team members. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Four or more years of engineering or other IT work experience relevant to the position. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills. Willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment. Solid understanding and significant experience with modern software development practices, tools, and/or hardware technologies. Understanding of IT security best practices. Expertise in one or more technical or functional domains relevant to the position. Technical skills specific to the role as required.
