Location: Lake Success / New Hyde Park NY. This is a primarily on-site opportunity with the potential for one remote workday per week. The role includes travel to courts and litigation venues throughout New York City Long Island and surrounding counties.

Note: Candidates must be admitted to practice law in New York and have 2 years of directly relevant medical malpractice defense litigation experience including hands-on experience with depositions discovery motion practice medical records review and trial preparation.

Job Description

• Defend clients in complex medical malpractice litigation from discovery through trial preparation
• Conduct legal research and draft motions briefs pleadings and other litigation documents
• Conduct and defend depositions and manage written discovery
• Review medical records expert materials and other case evidence to develop defense strategies
• Prepare cases for hearings conferences motions and trial
• Participate in court proceedings and assist with all phases of litigation
• Communicate professionally with clients witnesses court personnel experts and opposing counsel
• Manage multiple active matters while maintaining deadlines and high-quality work product

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active New York Bar admission required
• 2 years of medical malpractice defense litigation experience
• Experience with depositions discovery motion practice medical records review and trial preparation
• Strong legal research writing communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
• Willingness to travel to courts and venues throughout the greater New York area
• New Jersey Bar admission is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with electronic billing online legal research Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred
