Per Diem Registered NurseNorth Jersey Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our team. The Endoscopy RN will provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient endoscopic procedures. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.Serve as a circulating nurse in the procedure room.Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for upper endoscopy, colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy.Collaborate with gastroenterologists, anesthesia providers, nurses, and endoscopy technicians to ensure safe patient care.Monitor patient condition and ensure patient safety during procedures.Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.Educate patients and families on pre-operative and post-operative care.Follow infection control, safety, and ASC protocols.Uses equipment effectively following manufacturer's instruction for useUses proper techniques and procedures according to accepted standards of practiceAssists with inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the admission areaMaintains order and cleanliness of Pre Op/Admitting areaActively participates as a team member in support of the total pre-anesthesia care processPer Center Policy, uses two patient identifiers, identifies and validates the patient and procedure to be performedAdministers medications following physician orders and standards of careConsiders cost containment by using supplies economically and by managing efficient turnover timePosition QualificationsRequired: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program (AAS RN)Required: NJ State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)Required: BLS/ACLSGood IV skills.Ambulatory surgery center or endoscopy experience: 1 yearDemonstrates basic computer skillsPreferred: Certification in Gastroenterology Nursing or related fieldPreferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing.This position requires availability for no less than 2 shifts per month with at least one being a weekend shift (630a-1230p)Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
