Registered Nurse (Psychiatry) (AM, PM and NOC Shift)

Registered NurseAs a Registered Nurse for Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, you'll provide general and psychiatric nursing care to adults with emotional or psychiatric disorders. You will provide interventions that: promote and foster health; assess dysfunction; assist patients to regain or improve their coping abilities; maximize patient strengths and prevent further disability. These interventions focus on the psychiatric-mental health patient and include health promotion and health maintenance; monitoring patients and assisting them with self-care activities; monitoring psycho-biological treatment regimens; providing triage decisions and facilitating patient movement into appropriate services.*Pay Range: $50/hr. to $67/hr.*Available Shifts:Full Time: AM Shift (7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.), PM Shift (3:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M.), NOC Shift (11:00 P.M. to 7:30 A.M.)Part Time: AM Shift (7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.), PM Shift (3:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M.), NOC Shift (11:00 P.M. to 7:30 A.M.)*Please Indicate the Preferred ShiftResponsibilities:Collects and analyzes data regarding the patient's physical, psychological, self-care, educational, and anticipated discharge planning needsDevelops a comprehensive outline of care to be delivered to attain expected outcomes; includes in this plan, specific goals and interventions delineating nursing actions unique to each patientMaintains effective communication with all units and departmentsSupervises direct patient care as requiredCarries out medication management responsibilitiesConducts patient community meetingsProvides input into the discharge planning processMaintain patient, and unit related documentationMaintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment for patientsSkills:Demonstrates sound leadership skills and critical thinkingBasic knowledge of abnormal psychology as typically found in the adult psychiatric populationThe familiarity of Psychopharmacy and the use of psychotropic medications with the adult psychiatric populationBasic teaching and training skills helpful; problem-solving; organizational and time management; crisis intervention skills
