Job Title Nuclear Medicine Technologist Location RWJ New Brunswick Department Nuclear Medicine Pay Range $51.36 - $64.21 per hour Sign On Bonus $10,000 Job Overview Assists the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures. Qualifications Required Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Must possess a current NJ State license. ARRT(R), ARRT(CT) certification and/or NMTCB Fusion Certification. BLS certification required. Preferred Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred. Scheduling Requirements This is a full‑time position (5 × 8‑hour shifts, days) – 40 hours per week. Requires every 5th or 6th weekend on call, and additional weekday duties at University Hospital and Plum St. Imaging Center on the New Brunswick campus. All three buildings are connected by a bridge. Essential Functions Abides by standards established by the hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies. Accepts special assignments from supervisor and completes them on time. Assists the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures. Ensures all tests are performed properly and results are accurate before release to the patient. Calibrates the dose calibrator and performs QC procedures on gamma cameras per department protocols, notifying the lead tech of any malfunctions or issues promptly. Explains the procedure to patients, including wait times and comfort measures, and obtains optimal images using prescribed technical parameters. Identifies patients (both IP and OP) per hospital SOP before starting any procedure. Performs all hot lab related functions such as receiving, using and discarding radiopharmaceuticals following vendor, departmental and DEP rules and regulations strictly.
