Schedule Options:  

• Tuesday- Saturday 8am-4pm
• Friday – Tuesday 8am-4pm
• Friday – Tuesday 4pm-12am

Location:  Brooklyn, NY 11207
Job Type: Local Contract
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Pay Range:  $24-$24/hr.
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.  

Duties: 

• Build supportive, trust-based relationships with participants and families.
• Maintain a caseload and conduct outreach to engage participants.
• Use lived experience to support communication and encourage participation in services.
• Advocate for access to healthcare and community resources, addressing barriers to care.
• Facilitate wellness, recovery, peer support, and life skills development activities.
• Assist participants with creating wellness and recovery plans.
• Accompany participants to appointments and community-based activities as needed.
• Provide non-clinical support during crisis situations and post-discharge transitions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and referrals.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate participant needs and safety concerns.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and required trainings.
• Support participant independence, community integration, and connection to long-term resources.

Requirements: 

• Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) — OASAS and/or OMH/CRPA certification (provisional accepted)
• CASAC Certificate
• Lived experience with the Mental Health and/or Substance Use Treatment system; willingness to share appropriately
• Active participation in peer support, self-help, or peer advocacy programs
• High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and exercise excellent judgment
• Trauma-informed, culturally competent approach to documentation and member needs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
