Payroll & Cash Clerk

Payroll & Fare Clerk Assists the Accounting Manager in all daily payroll functions. Responsible for new employee profiles, payroll processing, fare collection reconciliation, paid leave tracking, and other clerical accounting tasks. Requires excellent attendance, punctuality, high accuracy, confidentiality, and strong customer service skills when dealing with employees. Benefits Competitive compensation package of minimum $19.75 – maximum $24.40 per hour Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks Holidays: 11 days 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability Responsibilities Enter time from timecards into payroll system, transmit payroll, verify paychecks, monitor overtime, and ensure payroll procedures are followed. Provide support by responding to questions regarding payroll, personnel records, and employee profiles, including telephone and company email correspondence. Answer the phone/email and respond to employee inquiries. Ensure all operational statistics are properly entered and prepare monthly management report for client. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly location specific reports as requested. Submit daily dashboard information. Exhibit excellent customer service with both internal and external customers. Prepare and submit all hourly employee HRIS profile and EAF employee change forms, including new hire, hourly rate changes, and terminations. Perform daily input and reconciliation of hourly employee vacation and sick leave accrual and usage. Collect Cash Fares and Fare Media (Vault) on the Vehicle during service. Retrieve, count, and record Fare Receipts and Cash. Perform full cycle counting of Fares. Special administrative projects and additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 1–3 years of professional experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees of all levels. Problem solving and analytical abilities. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Ability to input data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to perform a volume of numerical detail work with speed and accuracy, making difficult mathematical computations with or without mechanical assistance (e.g., calculator by touch). Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions and technical or legal terminology. Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Physical Demands 90% of work is performed indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities. 10% of work is performed outdoors. Requires considerable use of arms and repetitive hand, wrist, eye, and finger motion, and extensive computer work. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Limited light lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and reaching required. May be asked to travel to company functions or for outside training.
