Warehouse Assistant
The Warehouse Assistant reports to the Controller of ISD742; with the direction of the Warehouse Lead, the Warehouse Assistant is responsible for receiving, checking in and distributing most school district supplies.
Essential duties include:
- Manually unloading shipments from delivery trucks to respective storage areas; forklifts and carts may also be used during the process of unloading deliveries
- Inspecting all incoming shipments for damage and proper quantities against invoice; matching manifest to delivered product and verifying accuracy of orders
- Filling orders for supplies from district request forms
- Distributing supplies to appropriate schools by loading, driving and unloading District delivery vehicles
- Assisting in the preparation of inventory reports by counting and tallying on appropriate forms
- Maintaining a log of daily warehouse activities
- Driving the delivery truck or van
- Recording damaged shipments on appropriate forms
- Moving equipment within or between buildings; deciding on equipment and help needed to complete task
- Rotating inventory by marking dates and repositioning supplies
- Inspecting the delivery truck and forklift for visible mechanical problems, proper tire and fluid levels and safe brake operation; determining if repairs are needed
- Alerting supervisors of problems or stock shortages
- Assuming the duties of Warehouse Lead when that employee is absent
- Completing daily food deliveries to schools by 11:00 a.m.
- Adjusting daily schedule as necessary to complete tasks on a timely basis
- Advising supervisors as to space available to store items and suggesting quantities to be ordered on stock items
- Responsible for daily security of warehouse locations
- Responsible for inventory and ensuring orders are processed for any supplies removed from inventory
Physical factors include:
- Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing
- Lifting up to 125 lbs
- Working in storage freezer
- Working outside in a variety of weather conditions
- Driving in all seasons
