Salary Range: $76,392.00 To $86,057.00 Annually
- The Civic Engagement Director will monitor and drive department progress toward achievement of DHF’s strategic and operational objectives.
- Lead advocacy, lobbying efforts on behalf of DHF.
- Participate in coalitions, seek strategic partnerships.
- Present advocacy proposals to the Executive Team and Board of Directors for approval and guidance.
- Research and track policies impacting communities DHF serves.
- Oversee the development and implementation of non-partisan civic and non-partisan voter engagement programs to support DHF’s base-building goals and objectives.
- Support the monitoring of local, regional, and statewide governing body activities and public meetings.
- Develop campaign plans in coordination with DHF Organizing teams as well as regional and statewide campaign partners.
- Develop and prepare Civic and outreach materials for organizers, canvassers, and volunteers.
- Oversee all monitoring and report forms, and assist with the development and maintenance of department calendars, electronic files, and reporting systems.
- Develop and oversee DHF’s Civic Engagement Programming.
- Maximize departmental capacity to use technological innovations in civic engagement.
- Supervise and coach Civic Engagement Staff.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Experience volunteering or working with the community, government leaders, and public servants
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak, write and present information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner that is tailored to the particular audience
- Ability to forge solid working relationships with colleagues & community members
- Ability to work with a team and independently organize work and accept guidance from senior managers
- Ability to complete assignments and work, including reporting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one-year experience as a volunteer at a community, school, church, or labor organization
- Supervisory Experience
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, or political science
- Must have experience working with diverse communities
