Employment & Trade Secret Associate
Washington, D.C. | 2–5 Years of Experience

Salary range of $235,000 - $365,000, based on classification

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking an associate with 2–5 years of experience in management-side employment law litigation and counseling to join its Employment & Trade Secret practice.

Responsibilities

• Litigate employment matters, including restrictive covenant and trade secret disputes.
• Advise fast-growing technology companies on day-to-day employment matters, including:
  • Terminations and leaves of absence
  • Internal investigations
  • Reductions in force
  • Employment policies
• Advise clients on employment-related issues arising from mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of management-side employment law litigation and counseling experience.
• Experience litigating employment matters, including covenants not to compete and trade secret disputes.
• Strong employment counseling experience preferred, particularly with technology companies.
• Washington, D.C. Bar membership preferred.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Location

• Washington, D.C.
• Position requires weekly in-person attendance at the firm's D.C. office in accordance with current firm norms.
