PM&R Medical Director
$500 per monthUS Physiatry
U.S. Physiatry is seeking a board-certified Physiatrist for a full-time locum tenens Medical Director assignment at Baylor Scott & White - Lakeway, a top rehabilitation hospital in Austin, TX. This role involves providing leadership and clinical oversight for an inpatient rehabilitation unit, ensuring quality outcomes and regulatory compliance. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a highly regarded inpatient rehab setting.

Responsibilities
- Serve as Medical Director for the inpatient rehabilitation unit, ensuring quality outcomes and regulatory compliance
- Conduct daily rounding on patients and collaborate with therapy, nursing, and case management teams
- Provide leadership and clinical oversight for a 20-bed rehab unit
- Manage rehab-specific call coverage
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in Pinpoint EMR
- Support a culture of excellence and teamwork within the rehab program
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning
Compensation
- $2,000 per 8-hour day (rounding)
- $325 per hour for overtime
- $500 pager fee per night for on-call coverage
- $325 per hour if called in while on call
Benefits
- Reimbursement for licensing fees upon completion of 20 shifts
Shift & Schedule
- Assignment Dates: June 16 - September 26, 2025
- Standard coverage is 8-hour daytime shifts, typically between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Monday through Sunday availability as scheduled
- Pager call coverage may be assigned on weeknights and weekends
- No in-house call required; additional pay provided if called in while on pager call
Requirements
- MD/DO degree required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R
- Active TX license preferred - IMLC accepted
- Inpatient rehab experience strongly preferred
- Experience leading or rounding in an inpatient rehab setting
- Comfortable managing a 20-bed census in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
- Strong understanding of CMS documentation and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, especially Pinpoint or similar platforms
- Ability to manage weekend or evening rehab-related pager call professionally
- No visa sponsorship available
