Description Position: Linux Administrator and Network Engineer Location: Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii Shift: Evening Join our dedicated team at Leidos Defense Sector as a Linux Administrator and Network Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in supporting mission-critical operations at Camp H.M. Smith, HI. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical expertise within the secure and dynamic environment of the Department of Defense. Key Responsibilities Provide on-site support to Government and DoD personnel, maintaining the security and reliability of the ISSE Guard and TMPC Network. Engage in maintenance, patching, STIG implementation, troubleshooting, and vulnerability management for mission-critical Linux systems. Deliver comprehensive network engineering support including planning, design, configuration, and operational oversight. Evaluate TMPC Network and LAN components, recommending new technologies to improve mission capabilities. Stay informed on evolving tactical capabilities and contribute to TMPC lifecycle development and modernization. Conduct security testing, assist with accreditation/certification documentation, and implement necessary system upgrades. Manage LAN maintenance tasks including firewall administration, access control, VPN configuration, and switch/router updates per baseline standards. Develop innovative solutions for complex technical challenges and promote best practices across both Government and contractor teams. Prepare, update, and refine security documentation; oversee security activity schedules; and compile weekly/monthly LAN configuration reports. Support Information Assurance and Certification tasks, advising stakeholders to ensure compliance with security policies and requirements. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience, training, or certifications may substitute for a degree. Hands-on experience with administering Linux servers and workstations in complex network settings. Proficiency in Linux system administration and file transfer protocols. Active IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+). US Citizen; currently holds an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. Familiarity with Event Viewer, VMware, Active Directory, Group Policy, ACAS, and endpoint security. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Possess Advanced Linux certification (e.g., Linux+). Why Join Leidos?
