Core Teaching Fellow

Position Title: Core Teaching Fellow Location: Mount St. Mary's University, Emmitsburg, Maryland Overview Mount St. Mary's University seeks a full‑time teaching fellow to join the common integrated sequential core curriculum, starting August 17, 2026. Responsibilities Teach the First Year Symposium, an introductory college‑level writing and research course. Serve as academic advisor to freshmen during their first year. Teach core theology courses, including Foundations of Theology and Made in God's Image. Complete a 4‑3 teaching load, with fellowship renewal contingent upon satisfactory evaluations and budgetary conditions. Qualifications and Requirements ABD or Ph.D. in theology, systematic theology, philosophy, or a related discipline. Experience teaching undergraduate courses, preferably in transformative theology with a focus on the Catholic tradition. Strong ability to engage a diverse undergraduate student body. Submission of curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy statement, and cover letter addressing qualifications. Teaching evaluations (if available). Salary and Benefits Targeted salary: $50,000 per year, with actual compensation commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
