Customer Service Representative

Mount Pleasant, SC (Charleston area) | Full-Time, On-Site

What You'll Do

You'll be the dedicated point of contact for a book of customers. They'll know you by name and call you first.

• Manage assigned accounts end to end, from purchase order and booking through customs clearance and final delivery
• Coordinate with overseas agents, ocean carriers, customs brokers and truckers to keep freight moving on time and in compliance
• Send customers proactive shipment updates, and flag delays early with a plan to fix them
• Dig into root causes when a shipment gets stuck, then help build processes that keep it from happening again
• Keep our systems accurate and up to date, and make sure every invoice is billed correctly
• Onboard new customers as our sales team brings them in, and set them up for a smooth first shipment
• Work alongside Sales and Management to turn new accounts into long-term partnerships
• Our customers have direct access to their CSR, so calls/texts or emails for urgent issues are part of the role.

What You Bring

Required

• 2 years of customer service or operations experience with a freight forwarder, NVOCC, customs broker or 3PL
• Working knowledge of ocean import shipments (FCL/LCL), including bookings, documentation, arrival notices and customs clearance
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication; you keep customers informed before they have to ask
• Strong organization and follow-through across many shipments at once
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
• Team player successful in a fast-paced environment
