Chemistry Technician IIThe Role:Our site in Danbury is seeking a Chemistry Technician to join our QC Analytics & Metrology team on 1st shift. This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing processes for ALD Coatings and the Specialty Gas business unit of the Material Solutions division. The ideal candidate will be diligent, results-oriented and an excellent team player, with knowledge in safe lab practices.What You'll Do:The role will primarily involve operation of several gas phase analytical techniques including FTIR, CRDS, GC-DID, GC-PDHID, and GC-TCD and some physical testing including XRF, Ellipsometer and nano indentation for ALD CoatingsSafely perform routine lab testing to support existing products, new product development and customer requests in a timely mannerHandle gas cylinders, operate gas manifolds and analytical instruments, report results and recognize issues as they ariseParticipate in MSA studies for detection limits, accuracy, precision and stability for analytical methodsSet up and execute experiments - analyze data and communicate results to the teamMaintain and support lab practices per relevant ISO 17025 and 9001 requirementsMaintain and troubleshoot instrumentation including GC, FTIR, CRDS, etc.Participate in Pre-Safety Start Up Reviews (PSSRs), Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEAs) of processes as neededWhat We Seek:High School Diploma or GEDExperience working with hazardous materials1st Shift position – some flexibility in hours will be available; opportunities for overtime on an as needed basisTeam player attitude with a desire for excellence and continuous improvementFlexible - ability to rapidly respond to new situations and perform multiple tasksSelf-starter and comfortable working independentlyIndividual needs to be focused and pay special attention to details to ensure quality resultsGood communication and coordination abilitiesDemonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks/projects in parallelAbility to complete lab work safelyAbility to learn and become proficient at several analytical techniquesOutstanding Candidates Will Have:B.S degree of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science1-3 years of experience in analytical instrument operation and data analysisExperience in method developmentCertifications or training in Six Sigma, Semi, ISO, etcExperience with safe handling of gas cylinders and operation of gas manifoldsExperience with GC and FTIRWhat We Offer:Our total rewards package goes above and beyond just a paycheck.
