Agency Overview: The Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) takes great pride in its work to support the priorities of the DeWine-Tressel administration to ease access for those doing business with the state, secure state data and technology resources, and create efficiencies for our state government partners while keeping costs in check. DAS is the engine of state government, providing innovative solutions and supporting the efficient operation of state agencies, boards, and commissions. DAS program areas serve our Ohio government customers, who in turn directly serve the interests of Ohioans. We help procure goods and services, deliver information technology and mail, recruit and train personnel, promote equal access to the state workforce, lease and manage office space, process payroll, print publications, and perform a variety of other services. The Office of Real Estate and Planning provides state entities with diverse services related to office space and real estate needs. Services include office space assessments, space allocation, planning and design and project management activities; commercial leasing, acquisition and disposal of real estate; transfers of property between state entities; leasing of state buildings and land; appraisal review and valuation; surveyor services; and oversight of eminent domain actions.
Job Description
What you'll do:
- Performs multi-level real estate services on behalf of state agencies, boards, commissions, colleges & universities as required (e.g., leasing of commercial office, warehouse or other types of space. • Land leasing • Commercial property acquisitions & sales • Oil & gas leasing on state land • Granting of easements • Permits & licenses for state land use • Reviewing appraisals): communicates & corresponds with appropriate parties to establish terms & conditions of leases, easements, permits, licenses, acquisitions & sales covering state owned property & commercially leased property
- Locates suitable state owned or commercial space for use by state agencies
- Identifies & selects sites
- Conducts real estate market analysis
- Negotiates lease terms & provisions with property owners, developers, utility companies, cities, counties, other governmental agencies, not-for-profit entities & others
- Prepares real estate documents & any necessary financial analysis
- Provides assistance for controlling board meetings; oversees lease compliance
- Acquiring property for state use or disposal of state property
- Selects site, conducts real estate market analysis
- Negotiates acquisition or disposal terms & provisions with property owners, developers, utility companies, cities, counties, other governmental agencies, not-for-profit entities & others; prepares real estate documents (e.g., legislative act, sales packages, financial analysis)
- Coordinates appraisal & other assessments or reviews
- Performs closing & post-closing activities; leases state owned property or grant easements, licenses or permits on state land
- Negotiates lease terms & provisions with property owners, developers, utility companies, cities, counties, other governmental agencies, not-for-profit entities & others
- Prepares real estate documents & any necessary financial analysis, appraisal & other assessment coordination & review
- Serves as liaison with state agencies, boards, commissions, colleges & universities to advise on real estate practices & procedures: reviews & responds to informational inquiries & complaints; produces real estate documents (e.g., advertisements, charts, spreadsheets) to effect real estate transactions; maintains organized, accurate records & files relating to real estate activity & transactions;

Qualifications
36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in real estate, property management or related field; travel required, must be able to provide own transportation. -Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, real estate, property management or related field; 12 mos. trg. or exp. in real estate or property management; travel required, must be able to provide own transportation. -Or Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. Handle routine & sensitive telephone inquiries from officials & general public 7. Cooperate with coworkers on group projects 8. Prioritize projects, multi-task & manage time 9.
