The Link is a community triage center located in Sioux Falls that assists individuals experiencing a non‑violent behavioral health crisis, seeking treatment for substance abuse disorders, or searching for support services. As a community triage center, The Link helps meet the individual’s needs for critical services and connects them to resources to address mental health or substance abuse challenges. You Will Enjoy Working at The Link if You Are a Nurse Who: Has a passion for serving others needing assistance with withdrawal management Can observe intoxicated individuals Can provide crisis stabilization Appreciates an active, challenging care environment that requires critical thinking Values autonomous professional nursing practice Possesses motivation to help create and deliver high‑quality patient care in an energizing team environment Unit Highlights Opportunity to work with 20 different staff members Team includes Physicians, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Paramedics, Triage Techs, Social Workers, and Behavioral Health Techs Self‑scheduling program Student Loan Repayment: up to $10,000 over time, $167 extra payment each month Shift: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm/7:00 pm – 7:00 am, 72 hrs/2 weeks A Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changing conditions and needs and re‑evaluating care objectives. What You Will Do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicate the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other health‑care team members; coordinate with other healthcare providers; provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; confer with physicians. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining patients; documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; confer with family and friends; develop a nursing diagnosis; establish nursing care objectives; define nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instruct patients, families, and friends to understand conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; answer questions; provide information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measure health outcomes against patient care standards; review patient records; note changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluate care objectives; modify nursing care plan. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by following infection‑control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhere to organizational standards, policies, and legal regulations; alert others regarding potential concerns. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshoot breakdowns; maintain supplies; perform preventive maintenance; call for repairs. Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified and must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
